Reigna Wren

Reigna Wren is a Temple University alumni who graduated magna cum laude from Temple’s school of Theater Film and Media Arts with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Film and a concentration in Directing!  While attending Temple, Reigna screened her short narrative film, “Spin” in the Very Black Film Festival hosted in Philly; served as Co-President of the school’s club, Film in Color;  made promotional videos for other Temple student clubs and organizations; was inducted into Temple’s National Society for Collegiate Scholars and, National Society for Leadership and Success. Reigna’s college experience culminated with bringing to life her script for her short narrative film, “In Sickness And …”, for which she fundraised, casted, secured required permits and licensing, and Directed. “In Sickness And…” has been awarded several film festival laurels and, has screened at the Lady Filmmakers Festival in Beverly Hills, California.

While in high school, Reigna began her journey in Filmmaking and Painting. She earned multiple regional and national awards in Film. Some of Reigna’s film highlights include a national NAACP ACT-SO gold medal for her short documentary film, “Poncho”, which also screened at the Maryland Film Festival and the San Diego Black Film Festival. Her short documentary film, “Tribe of One” screened at the 3rd annual student White House Film Fest and SXSL Festival, where it was awarded an Honorable Mention. Reigna also interned as a production assistant with Tucker Hess Productions in Los Angeles, California, for the live action set filming of “The Illegal”.

In Painting, Reigna was awarded a Scholastic Art and Writing national gold medal for her figurative oil painting, “Alone in the Palace” at the prestigious Carnegie Hall in New York City. Subsequently, this painting was included in a Department of Education’s 2-year traveling exhibit, “ART.WRITE.NOW”. Additionally, Reigna earned a national NAACP ACT-SO gold medal for her oil painting, “Big Brother”, which is one in a series of eight, “Tribe of One” portrait oil paintings.

 

In Photography, Reigna was awarded an Honorable Mention for her American flag photo, “A Ribbon in the Sky”, that was featured in an exhibit at the Reginald F. Lewis Museum in Baltimore, Maryland.  She will forever treasure her experience at the White House student film fest and SXSL festival, where she had the opportunity to be included in a group photo shoot with President Barack Obama and, in an individual photo shoot by renowned photographer/painter/portraitist, Mr. Chuck Close!
